I'd like to take this opportunity to remind Anet that thursday expires in 2 hours, it does not start in 6-7 hours like they tend to believe.

It'd be nice to go to sleep in a serene way void of skill updates gone wrong for once.

Anet goes by their timezone. It's about 1:00 here.

That being said, I am not looking forward to the update. Not because I don't want the BS running around to be nerfed, I just seriously doubt that anet can pull it off in a way that doesn't make things worse.

Well, when you base everything off of Western United States time - for example, like Arenanet does - Thursday expires in 11 hours.

I'd like to take this opportunity to remind you that ArenaNet is located in Bellevue, Washington in the United States on the west coast.

This happens whenever a build is supposed to come out. Do people get amnesia from month to month? It's 1, don't expect to see anything until around 3-4pm onwards, based on nearly every other build we've had lately :P

I can't wait for this next update! I think I'm gonna pee my pants.

(Ok, maybe I was exaggerating... or was I?)

It's hilarious how you all think I'm totally ignorant with regards to the timezones. I thought the tongue-smiley would be a clear indicator.

That being said I had a point. And that point is that they should value my desire to go to bed knowing that the recent problems have been solved in a correct manner. Maybe they should consider that their player base is living in the civilized world where now thursday is rapidly coming to an end, and not in some remote, desolate place at Bellevue. I guess the next step would be to move HQ to Hawaii so they can bask in our misery for a few more hours once every month.

Btw, this update will solve all our problems.

I think people need to understand such a thing as 'perfect balance' doesn't exist ... I agree times were best back in prop, but you can't deny there were FOTM builds around and that it was easier to balance game around core 6 classes and 350+ skills, than what we have now.

To the cautious observers - it should be obvious to you that meta is healthy for some time, and then it degenerates as soon as 'the best' or 'easiest to perform' build is found ... the answer to that problem are either forced sealed decks in tournaments, top50 gvg matches and HA or very frequent and somewhat random buffs and nerfs of pvp-only versions of skills on steady basis, to encourage frequent build shifts where one hasn't enough time to find a degenerate build or to really exploit it, with meta changing every 2-3 weeks.

washington state also shares the Pacific time zone which includes CALIFORNIA, where, if I am not mistaken, quite a few people live.
And if you ever watch tv in the usa the times are given out in eastern and PACIFIC.....lots of people there.....(not to mention that zone goes thru canada as well as central and south america).

couldnt give my rats behind about the update as I never use those builds .....more annoyed about when they do some important enough to make a new build update but not enough to document what the heck it was.....if it was soooo important to make a new build, then its important enough to document it.

the update will happen, when it happens, and not before....

- Professor Yakkington accidentally ate the new update and will take approximately one week before we can... um... get it back. Enjoy the weekend!

I've made my update prediction.

The sad thing about this update is it probably won't be that great for the non-RA crowds and we'll have to wait until November to see another one.

Assuming the Test Krewe goes live soon, the next balance update should be better. We may even see update notes a month ahead of time.

Hmm, I guess you learn something new every day. I had no idea people actually lived on the left coast.

R/As using expertise to fuel skills...what would they nerf, if I may ask? truely speaking, each skill plays well in the natural order it was intended for. Nerfing expertise breaks the ranger on the whole, not the build.

If the live team changes expertise for one build, it will be a sad day indeed. Hopefully, it will be something less drastic.

*Expertise does not effect non-primary attack skills, but now increases condition length instead*

If they did that, it would truly be the most retarded nerf/buff ever.

Just make expertise work on ranger skills only tbh.

Those builds might actually not be half bad with a condition length buff to expertise.

Assuming the buff would be, let's say perhaps 10%...50%(at 16) increase to condition length, IA would burn (at 12 Wilderness) for 5 seconds instead of 3, and a 13 second apply poison would poison for 20 O_o

Cripshot at 14 would cripple for 12 instead of 8seconds.

This is assuming you're running 16 expertise which would be incredibly dumb for a decent ranger.
